Camera Recorder
Record video from your webcam and download as WebM. No upload, fully private, all processing in browser. Free.
Local processingWhat is Camera Recorder?
A camera recorder captures video from your webcam using the browser's MediaDevices API and MediaRecorder API, producing a downloadable video file without any server upload.
How It Works
getUserMedia() requests camera access, the stream is displayed in a <video> element, and MediaRecorder captures it to chunks. On stop, chunks are combined into a Blob and offered as a download.
Common Use Cases
- Recording quick video messages
- Testing webcam functionality
- Creating video content without installed software
Technical Details
Uses navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia({ video: true, audio: true }) for stream, MediaRecorder for capture, Blob construction from arraybuffer chunks, and URL.createObjectURL for download. Format: WebM (browser-dependent codec).
How to Use
- Click Start to enable camera
- Click Record to begin recording
- Click Stop to end and download
Privacy
All processing happens in your browser. Your data is never uploaded to any server.
